
Clare Boerigter is a science writer, environmental storyteller, and former wildland firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service.
Clare holds a BA in Spanish from Grinnell College, an MA in International Education from the Universidad de Alcalá in Spain, and an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the University of Minnesota.


Clare worked as a wildland firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service during the 2012, 2013 and 2015 fire seasons. She has worked as a firefighter on over 25 wildfires in 6 different states.
Born in Saudi Arabia and raised in the Midwest, Clare currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she swims in open water, runs long distances and nordic skis.
